What to expect during and after an energy healing session

In-person sessions
What you do:
Wear comfortable clothing. Remove shoes, glasses, watches and chunky jewellery.
We begin by tuning in to each other's energy systems with a Qi Gong exercise standing opposite each other.
You then stand, relaxed, while I work around you. I may ask you to turn to face in different directions, or to hold your arms out so I can move energy more freely through you. Most of the techniques do not involve me touching you. For some I may put my hands on your head, shoulders or elsewhere - I will let you know before touching you.
You can keep your eyes closed, or open them - however you feel more comfortable and relaxed.
For part of the session you will be seated. For people who would find it difficult to stand for long periods, the whole session can be done in sitting position.
We can have peaceful, relaxing music playing in the background if desired.
If you want to set the intention to release stuck energy, that can be helpful in making the session even more beneficial to you. Thinking about or visualising releasing things during the session may also help you.
What I do:
After connecting with your energy system I will use various techniques to bring new energy into your system to flush surface blockages away. I then connect more deeply to each chakra in turn and use other techniques to pull out old, stuck energy, thus removing blockages. The first session is fairly gentle, allowing your energy system to get used to the work of releasing blockages. Following sessions go deeper and are more intense, allowing deeper, older, larger blockages to be released.
What you may experience:
During a session you may feel nothing at all, but this doesn't mean nothing is happening - energy will still be moving. Some people feel tingling or warmth as energy moves. Occasionally a person may feel light headed, dizzy or slightly nauseous - let me know immediately in this case and you can sit and recover before we continue. These feeling indicate that a large blockage has been released - but not everyone feels this way, so please don't think the session is less effective if you don't feel faint!
After a session you may feel very tired. It is important that you take the next 24 hours or so at a gentle pace - rest as much as you can, & don't book a session the day before a significant event or busy day.
It is important that you drink plenty of water to help your body flush out any toxins, and that you avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours after a session.
Occasionally after a session you may find yourself feeling more emotional, or experiencing a slight worsening in your symptoms (called a 'crisis of healing) for a short while before your energy system settles into a new, higher level of health and balance. If you have children (or even pets!) you may notice that they experience a similar 'crisis of healing.' This is due to our energy systems being intimately connected with our close family members' & pets' energy systems.
Remote sessions:
What you do:
You can prepare by setting the intention to release stuck and negative energy.
You then simply sleep through the night and awake the next morning feeling the effects of the remote healing session.
If you prefer to select a particular time when you know I will be conducting your session, you then simply lie or sit still, relaxed and undistracted for the chosen hour. (Having a particular time can be harder for me to coordinate as due to family responsibilities some evenings I'm not sure what time I'll be ready to begin a session until a few minutes beforehand.)
What I do:
Prepare myself to tune in to your energy system by spending time meditating first.
Sit undistracted and focused, and visualise you and your energy system in front of me. Tune in to your energy system and visualise going through a healing session with you.
I often get images flashing into my mind representing the blockages at different chakras, & tend to note these down during the session to make sure I have correctly remembered them by the end of the session.
Type up your report and send it to you the following morning.
